Jack Perkins

Founder & Lead Developer

"The future of finance needs privacy by default and quantum resistance by design. I'm building Nyx to make that future possible."

The Vision

At 17, Jack Perkins is building Nyx Protocol - creating a blockchain infrastructure that protects financial privacy while preparing for the quantum computing era. What started as a deep fascination with programming and decentralized systems has evolved into a comprehensive vision for the future of money.

Jack recognized that existing blockchains face an existential crisis—they're neither private nor quantum-resistant. Bitcoin and Ethereum expose every transaction publicly. Privacy coins like Monero aren't prepared for quantum computers. And institutional adoption requires bridges between privacy and compliance that don't yet exist. Nyx is his answer to all three challenges.

"Age doesn't matter when you're solving problems that will affect everyone's financial freedom for decades to come. Quantum computers are coming. Surveillance is intensifying. We need solutions now, not later."

— Jack Perkins

The Journey

Tokenomics & Economics

Studying mechanism design, game theory, and monetary policy to create fair economic models. Designed Nyx's inverse inflation mechanism to promote equality and discourage wealth concentration.

Why Nyx Matters

Jack believes that the next decade will determine whether cryptocurrency fulfills its promise of financial freedom or becomes just another tool for surveillance. Three converging threats make Nyx essential:

1. The Privacy Crisis: Governments and corporations are building unprecedented financial surveillance systems. Public blockchains make this trivial. Without privacy-by-default systems, cryptocurrency becomes a dystopian tracking tool rather than a liberation technology.

2. The Quantum Threat: Quantum computers capable of breaking current cryptography could emerge within 5-15 years. Every major blockchain—Bitcoin, Ethereum, and their derivatives—uses vulnerable encryption. The transition must begin now.

3. The Adoption Gap: Cryptocurrency remains too complex, too expensive, and too incompatible with existing systems. For mass adoption, we need feeless transactions, institutional bridges, and interfaces anyone can use.

Nyx addresses all three simultaneously. It's not just another cryptocurrency—it's infrastructure for a financial system that respects privacy, resists quantum attacks, and works for everyone.

"People say I'm too young to build something this ambitious. I say we're running out of time to build it at all. Every day we wait is another day our financial privacy erodes and quantum computers advance."

— Jack Perkins

Philosophy & Influences

Jack's approach to blockchain is shaped by cypherpunk philosophy, Austrian economics, and the belief that technology should empower individuals rather than institutions. He draws inspiration from:

📖

Satoshi Nakamoto

Bitcoin's whitepaper proved that decentralized money is possible. Nyx builds on that foundation with privacy and quantum resistance.

🧮

Academic Cryptography

The researchers developing post-quantum cryptography at NIST and universities worldwide. Standing on the shoulders of giants.

🌍

Practical Impact

Technology must serve humanity. Beautiful theory means nothing if it doesn't improve people's lives and freedoms.

However, Jack differs from cryptocurrency purists in one important way: he believes institutional adoption and individual privacy can coexist. Rather than viewing governments as enemies, he sees them as potential partners in building better financial infrastructure. Nyx's CBDC compatibility layer proves that privacy and compliance aren't mutually exclusive.

Current Focus

Jack is currently focused on several key areas to bring Nyx from concept to reality:

Protocol Development

Writing the core protocol implementation in Rust, implementing the DAG transaction layer, and integrating post-quantum cryptographic libraries. Building the foundation of Nyx's technical architecture.

Team Building

Actively recruiting talented cryptographers, blockchain engineers, and developers who share the vision. Looking for both experienced professionals and passionate newcomers.

Community Growth

Building awareness about quantum threats and privacy challenges in cryptocurrency. Engaging with the broader blockchain community and privacy advocates.

Partnerships & Funding

Connecting with investors, institutions, and potential partners who believe in Nyx's mission. Seeking resources to accelerate development and build a world-class team.

Beyond Blockchain

When not working on Nyx, Jack is passionate about:

📚

Continuous Learning

Constantly reading whitepapers, research papers, and staying current with cryptographic advancements and blockchain innovations.

🗣️

Privacy Advocacy

Strong believer in digital privacy rights and encryption. Supports organizations fighting for privacy and against surveillance.

🌐

Open Source

Committed to transparency and open-source development. Nyx's code will be fully auditable by anyone.

🤝

Community Building

Engaging with other young builders and developers in the blockchain space. Believes in collaborative innovation.

The Road Ahead

Jack's vision for Nyx extends far beyond a successful protocol launch. He sees Nyx as foundational infrastructure for an entire ecosystem:

Short Term (2026): Launch testnet, build core team, implement privacy layer, release developer SDK, and establish validator network.

Medium Term (2027-2028): Mainnet launch, institutional partnerships, CBDC pilot programs, DeFi ecosystem development, and mobile wallet deployment.

Long Term (2029+): Global adoption, cross-chain interoperability, quantum computer resistance testing with early quantum systems, and continued protocol evolution through community governance.

But beyond technical milestones, Jack's ultimate goal is simpler: ensure that when quantum computers arrive and surveillance intensifies, there's at least one financial system that still protects human freedom.

"In ten years, people won't remember if I was 17 or 47 when I started this. They'll remember whether Nyx delivered on its promise to protect their privacy and prepare for the quantum future. That's what matters."

— Jack Perkins
